K1 Registration (formerly known as JK) 

Your child must turn four years old by December 31st to be eligible for junior kindergarten. To be eligible for senior kindergarten, your child must be five years old by December 31st. To register for grade 1, your child must be six years of age by December 31st.

Your registration will be considered complete upon receipt of proof of birth and address.

Transportation

Registration is mandatory and will be available online at mybigyellowbus.ca in June 2021. School bus stops and routes are revised every year. Bus timetables are posted in the Parent Portal in late August. 

In order to be eligible for transportation, students must be enrolled at the designated Thames Valley District School Board or London District Catholic School Board school. Your primary home address must meet the distance criteria (greater than 3.2 kms from the school site). Some programs such as French Immersion may qualify for bus service.

First Day September 2021

The first day of school for Junior Kindergarten students with last names starting with A-L is Wednesday September 8th.These students do not attend school on Thursday September 9th. They are back at school on Friday September 10th.
The first day of school for Junior Kindergarten students with last names starting with M-Z is Thursday September 9th. These students attend school on Friday September 10th as well.
The first day of school for Senior Kindergarten students is Tuesday September 7th.

*Recess time may be longer depending on the weather. Our FDK team likes to take advantage of the sunshine!

Before & After School Child Care

YMCA of Southwestern Ontario provides before and after school care at South Ridge Public School for children registered in the Kindergarten Program and students 6-12 years of age.

In order to indicate your interest in Before & After School care for your child(ren), please click here to add your name to the Child Care Registry. You will be asked to create an account and respond to various prompts. Once you have added your name to the registry, the child care operator will contact you.
